چکیده

Scoliosis is a three-dimensional structural deformity of the spine; more than 80% scoliosis has no specific pathogenesis but understood to be closely related genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors. In recent years, epigenetic alterations observed in have been analyzed numerous studies determine progression this condition, however, there currently comprehensive review factors date. We searched PubMed, Embase, Web Science databases for relative without language date restrictions March 2023. Twenty-five were included from four main aspects alteration: DNA methylation, non-coding RNAs, histone modifications, chromatin remodeling. The relationship between was considerably reported literature, corresponding signaling pathways novel biomarkers provide insights into innovative prevention treatment strategies. However, role modifications rarely scoliosis, few investigated Therefore, these fields need further explored elucidate overall effects epigenetics scoliosis.

Evaluation of Patient Outcome and Satisfaction after Surgical Treatment of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis Using Scoliosis Research Society-30

Background:  Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) may lead to physical and mental problems. It also can adversely affect patient satisfaction and the quality of life. In this study, we assessed the outcomes and satisfaction rate after surgical treatment of AIS using scoliosis research society-30 questionnaire (SRS-30).   Methods:  We enrolled 135 patients with AIS undergoing corrective surgery...

Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and osteopenia).

INTRODUCTION Generalized low bone mass and osteopenia in both axial and peripheral skeleton in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) have been reported in literature. However, the exact mechanisms and causes of the bone loss in AIS are not identified yet. OBJECTIVE Therefore, this study examined the relationship between AIS and bone loss represented by: serum concentration of soluble receptor...

Melatonin and adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Scoliosis seen in the chicken after pinealectomy resembles adolescent idiopathic scoliosis in man. It has been suggested that in both species, deficiency of the pineal hormone, melatonin, is responsible for this phenomenon. In nine patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and in ten age- and gender-matched controls, the circadian levels of serum melatonin and the excretion of urinary 6-hyd...
